In honor of the only Italian performances of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour, which brings her back to Turin for the first time in 25 years, ICONIC – Portraits & Artwork inspired by “The Queen of Pop” opens THURSDAY NOVEMBER 19TH in the Master Apartment of Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana (Via della Consolata 1bis – Turin – Italy).

The group exhibition, which will be open to the public from November 19th to November 24th, is a multi-colored and extravagant collection of artwork by Madonna’s creative and talented fans whose inspiration is the polyhedral public image of the “Queen of Pop”. These fans have created an interesting and eccentric visual orchestra of iconic representations of the artist. The artistic production of these 20 fan-artists of Madonna is showcased using the most varied techniques to reveal their personal interpretation of the iconic Madonna: from watercolor to collage, from digital art to pastel and more.

The majority of the artwork, that comes from all over the world, was selected personally by Madonna to become part of an extraordinary video that animates the concert stage during the performance of “Rebel Heart”. Other selections of this artwork has been repeatedly published on the singer’s Instagram account, that she has declared in recent interviews to be “an art gallery for my thoughts”.

ICONIC – Portraits & Artwork inspired by “The Queen of Pop” also proposes a site-specific installation created explicitly for the event, thanks to a collaboration with L’Oréal Professionnel and the result of the talented hair stylist and Madonna fan Franco Curletto, who will retrace in the key of pop Madonna’s most iconic hairstyles during the thirty years of her career.

“The exhibit offers ample visibility to the artwork of the fan-artists – explains Gabriele Ferrarotti, curator of the exhibition in collaboration with Ettore Ventura – thanks to an attentive set up that will interact in the best way possible with the atmosphere of the Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana exposition space, in this way achieving an iconic visual tribute to the “Queen of Pop” precisely in honor of her presence in Turin. The baroque style of the Palace is in many ways in harmony with the personal taste and aesthetic of the singer, that has, on more than one occasion, declared her passion for Italy and in particular the 18th century, the same period of the Palace’s construction, and allows the creation, as a result of the extremely contemporary feel of the artwork that will be displayed, of a contrasting visual effect that has characterized much of the singer’s artistic production.”

The artists selected for ICONIC – Portraits & Artwork inspired by “The Queen of Pop”, are all incredibly talented, huge fans of the “Queen of Pop” and come from all around the world: Aldo Diaz (Brasil), Aleix Pons (Spain), Arsen Suleymanov (Russia), Ben Youdan (UK), Fran Sànchez (Spain), Franco Curletto (Italy), Janka+creator (Italy), Jérôme Trudelle (Canada), Laertes de Oliveira (Brasil), Magia2000 (Italy), Marco De Matteo (Italy), Nicolas Obery (France), Noah (Canada), Pablo Lobato (Argentina), Rob Jacobs (Holland), San Siguenza (United States), Sergio Daricello (Italy), Silvio Alino (Spain), Son Of The Moon (United States), Timothy Aerts (Belgium).
